We are seeking an experienced VMware Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our VMware infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 9 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 3 years in an Architect role, with a strong background in VMware technologies and an expertise in high- and low-level design for robust infrastructure solutions. This role involves driving technology strategy, creating comprehensive technical designs, and configuring virtualization platforms to meet evolving organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Leadership: Lead the design and implementation of advanced technology solutions, aligning with organizational goals for current and future projects.
- Technical Design Documentation: Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive technical designs, including High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLD and LLD) for VMware Infrastructure.
- Technology Assessment and Recommendations: Assess emerging technologies and recommend system improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
- VMware Configuration and Optimization: Configure and reconfigure VMware virtualization platforms based on approved designs, ensuring peak performance and optimal resource use.
- Architectural Design and Prototyping: Design scalable and flexible solution architectures, including architecture roadmaps, blueprints, prototypes, and proofs of concept (POCs).
- Technical Advisory: Provide expert technical guidance on ICT infrastructure, supporting desktop and server environments, network topology, and applications to maintain scalable and resilient architectures.
Experience and Expertise:
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in IT with at least 3 years as a Solution Architect specializing in VMware.
- Proven expertise in VMware ESXi, vCenter, VCSA, VUM, and SSO.
- Strong understanding and practical application of HLD and LLD principles, especially Oracle consolidation on VMware ESXi versions 6.0 and 6.5.
- Experience with VMware infrastructure for GPU and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) projects.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, capacity management, and storage architecture involving virtualization heads from Hitachi and IBM SVC.
- Comprehensive understanding of both desktop and server environments, network topology, and application support within an ICT infrastructure.
Language Skills:
Proficiency in English (mandatory) and an additional EU language.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
VMware certification(s) and ITIL certification are highly desirable.
