Automation Test Engineer

As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for:

• the Agile testing strategy (incl. functional and non-functional testing)
• ensuring quality gates at release
• collaborating with other Test Engineers to manage dependencies
• coordinating testing across Squads
• defining environment needs
• supporting and providing guidance to Squads for testing activities
• defining the test automation roadmap
• maintaining test data governance
• actively contributing to problem solving related activities (Continuous Improvement attitude)
• continuously validating Features delivered in line with the defined Agile test strategy
• helping refine Features and their Acceptance Criteria, defining Feature level test plans as needed
• contributing to the elaboration and maintenance of Feature level Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
• attending Scrum of Scrums to identify and manage dependencies within and outside the Tribe
• continuously extending the test coverage for the product/service
• reviewing results of testing activities at Squad level
• ensuring quality gates at Story and Feature level so that defect threshold is maintained
• reporting quality status and risks of Features to Tribe leadership
• maintaining test data governance
• defining a consistent automated testing strategy
• drafting a test automation roadmap and plan
• helping and supporting Squads on creating tests that they can manage independently, applying a shift left attitude
• testing the performance of the solution against non-functional requirements, also ensuring adequate security testing
• defining the test objectives, test strategies and test plans in collaboration with other collaborators and in conformity of the company organizational test policies
• estimating the testing budget and identify the necessary resource skills to perform the testing
• recognizing when test automation is appropriate and select the required tools and training of the implementing teams, and collaborate with the developers scripting the automated tests
• leading, guiding and monitoring the analysis, design, implementation and execution of the test cases, test procedures and test suites
• ensuring the setup of test environments and manages its lifecycle during test execution.
• scheduling the tests for execution and monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results. Adapt the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust to evolving conditions
• writing summary reports on test status
• supporting Epic Delivery Owner/Project Managers, Quality Assurance Managers and other collaborators

Requirements

• solid understanding of the technology stack you are supporting
• knowledge of risk based approach testing (requirements & product risks analysis)
• ISTQB certification
• experience in Agile way of working
• knowledge of the specific tools: TFS, ServiceNow and a good knowledge of technical infrastructure is a nice to have
• affinity with technical testing (NFR validation)
• professional Scrum Master certification and knowledge of ITIL are an asset
