Main Functions:
• Translate system, network and storage designs into automation tools;
• Automate recurring actions and maintenance activities;
• Ensure the resulting automation toolchain remains up to date and aligned with deployed infrastructure;
• Participate, on a punctual basis, to specific projects related to his/her specialty.
The Automation Engineer must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player.
Reports to:
Lead Architect(s).
In close relations with:
• Infrastructure Architects Team
• Service Delivery Manager
• Project Manager
Duties:
• Develops and maintains the EES WS and NUI automation toolchains in accordance to validated designs;
• Analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions and their framework;
• Produce and deliver Ansible artefacts (modules, roles, playbook, etc.), Python scripts, and related infrastructure component configurations;
• Participates in the meetings to contribute to defining new projects and to contribute to the design of the infrastructure from the automation perspective;
• Maintains the automation toolchain related documentation by ensuring that changes are reflected in the documentation;
• Provides input for Incidents/Problems/Defects related to the automation toolchain to the Operational team;
• Provides input to organize regular knowledge transfer sessions with the Operational team;
Working Conditions:
• Normal business hours with some flexibility required when overtime is exceptionally needed.
Employment and technical Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in ICT domains as described below with at least 2 years of experience as automation engineer or a comparable role (SRE, DevOps, etc.);
• Eager to learn and able to explore a new technology autonomously;
• In-depth technical understanding of IT concepts for every layer in the stack. Administrator level understanding of at least one commercial or open source tool in the following layers, preferably the products mentioned:
o Storage (HPE 3PAR, HPE Primera, HPE StoreOnce (backup), Veeam, Ceph);
o Virtualization (VMware);
o Operating Systems (RHEL, MS Windows);
o Physical Infrastructure (HPE iLO, rack management systems);
o Networking (Cisco ACI, switching, routing, firewalling, load balancing).
• In-depth knowledge of:
o Ansible (including: molecule or alternatives);
o Python (including: pytest and testinfra or alternatives);
o Linux Shell Scripting.
• Working experience with:
o Ansible Tower/Ansible automation platform;
o Git;
o Test-driven development.
• Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and demonstrated ability to work in complex environments;
• Self-directed with proven ability to prepare mature decisions supported by thorough data analysis;
• Follows standard and project-specific best practices, contributes to improving working methods;
• Knowledge of ITIL V3 principles.
• Good communication skills.
• Good writing skills
• Working experience with EU client or other public institution is an added value;

• Onsite work from customer office in Strasbourg. 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
