API Gateway Engineer

Context

As an API Gateway Engineer (B2B), within Agile Production services Tribe will work together with the existing web squads for the technical design, installation, set-up, industrialization, management, support and documentation of our client.

You will develop and maintain GW security policies for multiple customer centers within an efficient Agile SDLC for the API Management platform. You will work cross-functionally with Architects, Engineers, and Business Analysts, across multiple teams.

Function Description

The mission has different aspects:

  • Design, deliver, and support the integration layer between operating systems and business applications within distributed environments for B2B, B2C, and Web information exchange solutions.
  • Focuses on the integration of web application in the Web Infrastructure for the intranet as well as for the DMZ.
  • Engineer B2B GW & API security policies and configure API Management.
  • Deploy, configure, tune, and monitor Axway / Apigee API Gateways.
  • Complex policy development using policy studio used team development feature to support CI-CD workflow, modified environment properties using scripts and configuration studio, created postman collections to support testing
  • Assist and actively participate in production support (incident, problem, and change management) for the Application security squad. (+ on-call).
  • Help clients with digital transformation through API Management and API Security.
  • Architect solutions with clients, based on company standards and best practices.
  • Share knowledge with colleagues on technology subjects, solutions, and best practices on vendor specific and also on generic security components
  • Establish and document installations, guidelines, policies, and procedures for relevant stakeholders as well as customer-facing technical documentation.

Required knowledge / Experience

  • At least 5+ years of experience IT Security Engineering Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in support of Axway API Gateway systems
  • At least 3 years of experience in Web security domain with comparable products (Axway API GW, Apigee, F5-ASM)

Mandatory

  • Experienced in Axway API Gateway Platform for version 7.7.x
  • Should have hands on Knowledge on Axway API Gateway Policy Studio, API Manager, API Portal, API Analytics.
  • Should have knowledge on REST, SOAP WebService
  • Experience to create Policies based on data routing, URL rewrite, request and response conversion, IP whitelisting/blacklisting, Throttling, external connection with database (MySQL) etc.
  • Generic knowledge on:  anti-virus, firewalls, application firewalls, load balancers, networks, DMZ,…
  • Should have worked on API design, API Documentation.
  • Securing the End Point with API Key, OAuth 2.0 (with JWT, Authorization code, client credentials, Implicit), SSL, Basic Authentication.
  • API Gateway CI-CD Implementation using Jenkins and Gitlab.
  • Good working knowledge in Linux environment.
  • Install, configure, and manage Axway API Gateway and API Manager on Linux servers.
  • Set up, configure, and optimize Cassandra databases for performance and reliability.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance shell scripts to automate tasks, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage server resources, including setting up traps and alerts for memory usage, CPU utilization, and disk space monitoring.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage patch updates to keep systems secure and compliant with security policies.
  • Plan and perform migrations, upgrades for various Axway versions ensuring seamless transitions with minimal downtime.
  • Configure and manage monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Kibana, Logstash, and Filebeat for effective system health and performance monitoring.
  • Perform continuous performance tuning, proactive monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and stability of systems.
  • Document configurations, processes, scripts, and system changes to support operational continuity and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Should have hands of Knowledge on Axway API Gateway Policy Studio, API Manager, API Portal, API Analytics.

Preferable

  • Recent successful proven experience(s) in similar/comparable scope
  • Design, develop, and deploy APIs using Apigee Edge.
  • Implement API policies for security, traffic management, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with backend developers and stakeholders to integrate APIs with existing systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot API performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain API documentation and specifications.
  • Ensure best practices for API development and management are followed.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Good Understanding of KPS architecture and its relation with Cassandra.
  • Basic knowledge JavaScript, or Groovy or of Core java
